Does VolūM replace my alarm app?

No. VolūM never sets, changes or rings alarms. It protects the volume of the alarm you already have, in whichever app you set it. Change your alarm there any time; VolūM follows.

Which phones does it work on?

Android 10 and newer. The breathing background uses newer graphics on Android 13+; on older phones you get a calm static version of the same screen. There is no iPhone version, and none is planned. iOS does not let an app protect the alarm volume this way.

Does it work with Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, podcasts?

Yes. VolūM does not touch the app you are watching or listening to. It controls the phone's media volume, the same one your volume keys control, so it works with anything that plays sound, including casting to a speaker.

What exactly happens at 2 a.m. if something lowers my alarm?

VolūM puts the volume back, usually within a second, and writes one line in the night journal. Your screen stays off. No sound plays. In the morning the report shows you what happened.

Will it drain my battery?

Overnight use is designed to cost about 1 to 2 per cent. The screen stays off, the background does not animate while you sleep, and VolūM only wakes when a volume changes.

My phone kills background apps. Will it kill VolūM?

Some phones ship aggressive battery managers that can stop any app overnight. The bedtime check detects this before you sleep and shows the one setting for your exact device that fixes it. If protection is ever interrupted anyway, VolūM tells you plainly in the morning, including when and for how long.

What does VolūM cost?

Protection, the fade and the bedtime check are free, for everyone, with no ads. Plus, with extra themes, a 90-night journal and share cards, is a one-off purchase, no subscription. The price is confirmed at launch; the list hears it first.

What data does the app collect?

None that leaves your phone. VolūM needs no account. The night journal is stored on your device and you can delete it any time. The app does not record audio and cannot see what you play, only the volume levels.

When does it launch?

Early access opens in small groups during 2026, in the order people joined the list. Your place is numbered when you sign up.

Can I move the bright line by accident?

No. Moving your alarm volume takes a deliberate press and hold before the line follows your finger. A brush of the thumb does nothing, and no app can move it at all while protection is on.
